
HANOVER COLLEGE
(Hanover, Indiana)
Visit Hanover’s Duggan Library to see their permanent display of more than 30 Hubbard paintings and prints from their collection. This collection of artwork includes a bequest made by Harlan Hubbard to the College in 1986.
Hanover also has other resources related to the Hubbards, including some archival materials in the Judith Moffett Collection and a copy of Flo (Fowler) Caddell’s slide catalog of 450+ Hubbard paintings.

BEHRINGER-CRAWFORD MUSEUM
(Covington, Kentucky)
Visit The Behringer-Crawford Museum (BCM) to see one of the largest public collections of Hubbard art in the region. Artwork in the BCM collection includes paintings from a bequest made by Harlan Hubbard in 1986, as well as several key works from the Mia Cunningham Collection.
The Cunningham Collection also provides essential access to primary and secondary source materials related to both Harlan Hubbard and Anna (Eikenhout) Hubbard’s families.

UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE, ARCHIVES & SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
(Louisville, Kentucky)
Visit the Archives & Special Collections at the University of Louisville’s Ekstrom Library (U of L) to see the processed collections of the Harlan and Anna Hubbard Papers, the Don Wallis Papers, and other smaller (processed and un-processed) collections of Hubbard Material.
U of L is also the home to Joanne Weeter’s important series of oral history interviews collected with Harlan Hubbard in 1987-1988. This vital resource can be accessed in-part online, or in-full at the Archives.

OWENSBORO MUSEUM OF FINE ART
(Owensboro, Kentucky)
The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art (OMFA) owns five of the most striking and important Harlan Hubbard paintings, commissioned in 1969 by Citizens State Bank.
The series contains five large-scale oils on canvas, donated to the OMFA by JPMorgan Chase: Golden Girl (pictured), Yellow Banks, The Eclipse, River Traffic, and City of Owensboro.

CAMPBELL COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY, NEWPORT BRANCH
(Newport, Kentucky)
The Newport Branch of the Campbell County Public Library owns and displays two of the pieces Harlan Hubbard completed as part of his commission for the Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) in 1934.
Paintings include depictions of the First Campbell County Courthouse, and the historic Fourth Street School in Newport (pictured).

KENTON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY, COVINGTON BRANCH
(Covington, Kentucky)
The Covington Branch of the Kenton County Public Library owns and displays two of the pieces Harlan Hubbard completed as part of his commission for the Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) in 1934. Paintings include Confluence of the Licking and Ohio Rivers (pictured), and Market and Square.
The KCPL also holds an interesting collection of photographs related to the Hubbards, from various sources, which can be viewed and requested online.

THE CARNEGIE
(Covington, Kentucky)
The theater at The Carnegie in Covington houses the largest mural Harlan Hubbard created, completed as part of his commission for the Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) in 1934. The Spirit of Covington is a large-scale work over the proscenium arch of the theater stage.

THE HOWARD STEAMBOAT MUSEUM
(Jeffersonville, Indiana)
The collection of the beautiful Howard Steamboat Museum, dedicated to river history, contains multiple paintings by Harlan Hubbard of one of his favorite subjects: steamboats!
The paintings feature a variety of Hubbard’s technical styles, including particularly impressionistic or Whistler-inspired works like Steamer Southland, from the original collection of C. W. Stoll.

TRIMBLE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
(Bedford, Kentucky)
The Trimble Country Public Library in Bedford, Kentucky–located only a few miles from Harlan and Anna Hubbard’s historic home at Payne Hollow–has its Hubbard resources completely available online.
Their collection includes a number of short oral history clips, including a rare recording of Harlan and Anna Hubbard playing music at Payne Hollow. There are also a few photographic resources from the oral history visits of former Trimble County librarian, Louise Ginn.

FILSON HISTORICAL SOCIETY
(Louisville, Kentucky)
The Filson Historical Society currently has four steamboat paintings by Harlan Hubbard on display in one of its public research rooms. The Filson also houses multiple collections related to the interests of the Hubbards, including river history and shantyboats.

OGDEN MUSEUM OF SOUTHERN ART
